"I was recommended to Dr. Richard Scheinberg by a friend and her husband who had both been treated by him. I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis at the base of both thumbs. X-rays showed no more cushions – just bone on bone and an incredible amount of pain. Previously two Orthopedic Surgeons only had the option of removing the bottom bones and trying to replace them with tendons taken from my wrists/arms. This surgery just terrifies me. I’ve known a woman in Arizona who had the same surgery and hers did not go well. I might be 73 years old, but I’m not ready to give up my hands.
